Cameron @ The Festival of Politics
Bored of Brexit? Tired of Theresa? Terrified to turn on the news? … Yeah, we know those feels.
But, oddly enough, The Festival of Politics at The Scottish Parliament last week was the perfect antidote to our political blues.
Now in its 14th year, the festival is designed to provoke and inspire people of all ages – and from every walk of life – to listen, engage and debate. And with four days of talks and panels around subjects of major social, cultural and political importance, it does exactly that.
We helped with sound, lighting and stage set-up for the live bands, comedians, and – most importantly – the debates in the Members’ Room and four Committee Rooms. Topics ranged from the #MeToo campaign; to the politics of housing, disability and food banks; to mobile phone use and social media influence; to the impact and repercussions of Brexit (there’s really no escaping that one); and many more. If ever there was an event which aligns with our ethos of connecting ideas, it’s this.
We also created a casual breakout area with our stylish event furniture. And with the stunning architecture and interiors of The Scottish Parliament building, it wasn’t hard to make the place look fabulous.
LED trees, café tables, metal indy chairs, tartan settees, leather sofas, and our bright pink lux armchairs – it was everything the guests needed to take a load off and keep the debate going. Because if you’re going to argue with someone about the repercussions of a No Deal Brexit, you’re going to want a comfy seat.
We’re delighted to have worked with The Festival of Politics for many years – and we can say, without a doubt, that this was the biggest and best to date.
Bring on 2019. Deal or No Deal.
