Armistice 100 | Cameron

the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month

Sunday 11 November 2018 marked 100 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War. In Edinburgh, large crowds gathered in remembrance and respect for the members of the armed forces who fought and died in the line of duty, and for those who continue to serve today.

We were honoured to support the Remembrance Day events at The Scottish Parliament. We projected the names of all the Scots who sacrificed their lives over 100 years ago onto the front of the building, as well as the names of those listed on the Scottish War Memorial Roll of Honour. It took 7 hours to show all the names, with the last post appearing at midnight.

lest we forget

What struck us most was the silence as people walked around the building, contemplating the sheer number of names and the futility of the war. It was a poignant sight to see, and we felt very privileged to play a part.
